FAQs
-
Micro-channeling is a noninvasive procedure designed to stimulate your body’s own natural ability to generate collagen, elastin, and other building blocks of healthy skin. By stimulating the outermost layers of the skin, micro-channeling can help your body start this process without penetrating into living tissue.
-
Microneedling is the predecessor to microchanneling created from modified tattoo pens. It is a more abrasive treatment with more downtime. It creates irregular and angled channels whereas microchanneling creates unique linear stamping without dragging or tearing. It is faster treatment times and virtually no downtime.
-
A single treatment creates hundreds of thousands of microchannels. In response to each micro-injury, an inflammatory healing process begins which initiates the formation of new collagen. Over time, the repeated healing process improves the surface texture and the overall appearance of the skin
-
Procell uses Human growth-factor serums derived from bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells are known to promote scarless healing with minimal inflammation. Application of serums immediately after micro-channeling treatment enhances delivery and collagen growth.
-
With minimal physical discomfort, most clients are able to do the procedure without numbing cream and without any noticeable pain. There is no lingering discomfort, and we have a number of strategies we employ to minimize discomfort during treatment. Post-procedure, most people report a “tight” feeling in their skin.
-
As ProCell micro-channeling treatments are minimally invasive, they are also safe for all skin types. Whether you are fair-skinned or dark, and even if you experience chronic breakouts, properly conducted micro-channeling treatments will not result in hyperpigmentation, keloid scars, or other lasting negative side effects.
-
Micro-channeling treatments can improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, stretch marks, and rosacea.
-
Though neocollagenesis (the production of new collagen) can take several weeks, it is not abnormal to notice an improvement in the quality and appearance of your skin within the first 24 hours. After 2-3 treatments a thicker more robust, collagen filled cellular matrix will produce more consistent and noticeable improvement. And 6 or more treatments may be recommended for scarring, laxity and wrinkles.

Celluma Red Light Therapy
Each micro-channeling treatments comes with complimentary 15 minutes of red-light therapy.
Red light therapy helps enhance cellular metabolism, accelerate the repair and replenishment of damaged skin cells, as well as stimulate the production of collagen — the foundation of healthy, smooth skin. Research has shown that LED light therapy may help smooth skin texture, improve skin firmness and resilience, increase lymphatic system activity, restore skin’s natural cellular activity, and reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and superficial hyperpigmentation.
Based on extensive research, low light therapy is FDA-cleared solution to manage:
Mild to moderate acne
Superficial, benign vascular and pigment lesions
Periorbital wrinkles (around the eyes)
Sub-optimal local blood flow and circulation
What is low light therapy?
Low-level-light therapy or photobiomodulation is based on Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology and is the application of light energy to the body for therapeutic benefits. It promotes a natural photobiochemical reaction similar to the process of plant photosynthesis. The treatment is for all skin types, and is non-ablative, non-invasive, painless, and requires absolutely no downtime. Patients or clients can return to their normal activity immediately after the treatment.
Does light therapy utilize UV light?
No. Celluma utilizes a combination of blue, red, and near-infrared (not visible to the naked eye) light emitting diodes (LEDs) only.
How long is a session with Celluma light therapy?
Micro-needling comes with 15 minutes of red-light therapy however, 15 extra minutes can be added for an upcharge! 30 minutes is most desirable and provides the best results.
